The report, which was obtained by The Wall Street Journal, states that the Energy Department “now assesses that the COVID-19 virus was not man-made or genetically modified, but that it likely had its origins in a laboratory accident.” The report also states that the virus “likely originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China,” and that the “most likely pathway” for the virus to have been released from the laboratory was “through a leak.”
