    The US Capitol Police force is taking extra precautions ahead of a possible indictment of former President Donald Trump. The Joint Information Center, which includes 12 local agencies, will be stood up on Tuesday in case of an emergency response. The NYPD is expecting all officers to be in uniform and ready for deployment on Tuesday, but there is currently no credible threat.

    Today, Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Moscow for a three-day visit hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. During their meeting, Xi expressed support for Putin to be reelected and conveyed China's willingness to help find a political solution to the war in Ukraine. The US is skeptical of any ceasefire proposal that would allow Russian forces to remain in Ukrainian territory, and has committed more than $32 billion in aid to Ukraine since Russia's invasion began. Recently, the US authorized an additional $350 million in security aid, and eighteen European nations have agreed to jointly procure ammunition to aid Ukraine.
